Norwegian Hedda Berntsen has dominated multiple disciplines of skiing. She is a former World Champion in telemark skiing, World Championships bronze medalist in slalom and has two X Games silver medals in Ski X (2088 & 2010). Hedda is currently getting her master's in teacher education from the University of Oslo.

What do you do to unwind?

I like to go to the ocean and hang out with friends and do fun activities like swimming, pool, volleyball, waterskiing on stereo skis and table tennis

Best idea of having good time?

Hang out at the Cable park at Norsjø ferieland wakeboarding and wake surfing. Skiing for fun in Hemsedal in the spring skiing really steep stuff as well as hang out in the best terrainpark.

Favorite reading?

Developmental theories, sports magazines, philosophy and environmental-philosophical contemplations.

Reindeer meat, fruits and vegetables

Hemsedal

What is your favorite city to visit and why?

Copenhagen because they have great beaches, an awesome wakeboarding cable park, great long boarding, the Tivoli has concerts and good restaurants and nice people

Hemsedal, Squaw Valley, Serre Chevallier and Sestriere

Where do you preferably spend your time off?

At home, in Hemsedal or at the cable park in Telemark

Skiing since?

Cross country skiing since the age 2. Ski jumping since the age of 5, alpine racing since age of 17 and ski cross skiing since 2007

What started you skiing?

It Looked fun, and all the kids in the neighborhood skied. We always made huge jumps during our years at the elementary school. We would hurry home from school to spend the whole afternoon outside making jumps and competing to do the coolest trick.

Why do you ride?

Because I love it

Best part of skiing?

It is sosososoos fun and a lot of great people to hang out with

Hardest part?

A lot of traveling

Weakness?

I do not like time zone changees, and I am a terrible sleeper.

Most important people in your life and career?

My family and friends are very important to me. My sister Ingrid is one of the most important people concerning my career. She skied world cup moguls for 10 years and we have trained and pushed each other a lot and had tons of fun.

Worst moment in career?

When I quit alpine skiing in 2003. It did not take long before I was back though.

Best moment in career?

There are so many fun parts. I have to say the times I was most motivated to ski, like the summer of 1998 when I moved to Stryn to ski all summer, and when I discovered the fun of skiing down steep mountains in Hemsedal. And of course every spring when I spend my time in Hemsedal skiing a lot.

Do it for the love of it. Learning by doing

A lot of variation and love of what I am doing
